Winter Composition Workshop Featuring core ensemble flutist Deirdre Viau
The Boston New Music Initiative is pleased to invite all members to a composition workshop for unaccompanied flute. Works doubling on piccolo, alto flute and bass flute are also eligible.
The workshop will take place on January 21, 2017 from 4-6pm at the Record Company in Boston. BNMI core ensemble flutist Deirdre Viau will play through your work, and provide feedback. All participants must be present at the workshop.
Advanced registration is required, and the workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. All participants in the workshop must be members of BNMI. The workshop is free for full members, and $10 for associate members.
All pieces should be less than five (5) minutes in length, and any piece using electronics or tape must be reviewed in advance.
Deirdre and the BNMI artistic staff will review all entries and choose one for performance on the next BNMI concert on April 22, 2017 at the Arts at the Armory in Somerville. In the case that no piece is deemed suitable for the concert, BNMI reserves the right not to choose a winner.
To participate, register here and bring your work with you to the workshop. For extra feedback, you may submit your work up to a week in advance by e-mailing our Director of Concert Series, Beth Ratay at email@example.com.
