Call for Videos: Prismatic Congruency

The Boston New Music Initiative is announcing a call for solos or duets to be programmed as part of BNMI’s fourteenth season digital presentation series "Prismatic Congruency." Incorporated in 2010, BNMI aims to advance the careers of its members in the field of new music by serving as a resource for networking, professional development, commissioning, collaboration, and programming. The call is open for all solo or duet acoustic, electro-acoustic, and multimedia works. The competition is open to all composers or performers with no restrictions.

The new series "Prismatic Congruency" will present a series of solo and duet works in several 30 minute video collections released throughout the season. This call is for videos of performances of any work for any instrument by a living composer.

  1. Duration. Works can be of any duration, although preference will be given to works which are 8 minutes or less.
  2. Number of Entries. There is no limit on the number of works a performer or composer may submit; however, each work should be submitted as a separate entry.
  3. Membership. Composers wishing to submit scores must become Shout level members of BNMI. Shout It Out membership is $25 a year. Information on membership benefits can be found here. Please note that new memberships may take up to 24 hours to be approved (although usually much less). 
  4. File Formats. You will provide a link to download your complete video.
  5. Permission for Use. By submitting to this call, the composer and performer give permission to use the audio and video submitted. BNMI shall possess ownership of recorded audio and video and maintains the right to publicly distribute audio and video for promotional purposes. BNMI shall not publicly distribute the recording of any performance for financial gain.
